In this diptych I photographed the back of a corset and the front after it was removed. I love how you can still see the corset marks on her stomach. My images on ArtStar have all been created with a beautiful Graflex Super D camera that was made in the 1940s. The lens is a Schneider barrel lens that dates back to 1920. The concept behind the work is to revive the technique of shooting with this camera while documenting the art of burlesque which is also currently enjoying a renaissance. I hope that by bringing these two art forms together I am able to capture images that, although current, also have a feel of the periods of their creation. Short
