Tiger was made in 2010 while I was completing the Terna Prize Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. I am connected to both the U.S. and Bangladesh and, in my work, I aim to build a unique personal history that unifies these distinct selves. Tiger was done with ink, guache and pen on linen fabric from Bangladesh, referencing both Eastern textile traditions and Western tapestry aesthetics.
