Everest Base Camp at Night was photographed at the Base Camp of Mount Everest. I was attempting to climb the mountain in the Spring season of 2005, and I arrived at the Base Camp on a full moon night. I remember the moraine was lit in a surreal manner. As the nights passed, the Base Camp would be pitch dark, so I planned for a full month before I took this shot. I was facing our communal tent, and you can see the infamous Khumbu Icefall in the background. I exposed the shot for 5 minutes, and during this time one of my team mates in the distance passed with his headlamp. It turned out to be a beautiful mistake that brought something else into the picture.
