Irene Suchocki
BIO
Irene Suchocki is a freelance fine art photographer based in Montreal, Canada. Combining her love of travel with her dream-like aesthetic, Irene creates visual poems that evoke a sense of magic, delight, nostalgia and romance. Her series of photographs of Paris, New York, and Italy show these iconic places in a unique way, giving the viewer the sense of having tumbled through a secret doorway into a previously unseen world. Irene's work is in thousands of private collections around the world and has been featured on television in shows such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Nate Berkus show, and The Steven and Chris Show on CBC in Canada. It has also appeared on film sets, design and style blogs such as Apartment Therapy, Daily Candy, and Decor8.

Artist statement
I fell in love with Paris at an early age. While studying French at grade school, my mind would wander to the Paris in my imagination. I was able to visit the city for the first time in my teens and was so taken by its beauty that I could barely believe that it was real. Upon returning to Paris as a photographer, I tried to capture that feeling of being caught up in a dream; a very beautiful dream, but one that is tinged with melancholy because it has to end.
