Liu Jin 刘瑾
BIO
Born in Jiangsu, China Liu Jin's artwork is a perfect example of the evolution of Chinese contemporary photography from the 90's to the present. In the early stages of his career, Liu Jin was well known for his body-performance works before focusing exclusively on staged conceptual photography. His work has been shown in galleries and collections around the world.
EDUCATION
1995: Graduated from the Department of Arts and Crafts of Jiangsu Xuzhou Engineering Institute.
Artist statement
In his photographs Liu Jin questions the issues of the fast urbanization process happening in China. By staging his "injured Angels", Liu Jin wonders about the position of the human and the nature within this evolution of the Chinese city.
