Michael Schall

BIO

Michael received his BA from Swarthmore College and his MFA from Pratt Institute. Represented by Pierogi Gallery, in Brooklyn, Michael has shown his work in museums and galleries both nationally and internationally, and has recently been published in two issues of the McSweeney’s literary magazine. He is also the recipient of a few awards and grants including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. He is currently living in Brooklyn, NY.

Artist statement

My drawings usually relate to some or all of the following ideas, technological and industrial progress, geo-engineering, old Dutch landscape paintings, the effects of light, centers of energy, etc.
