Jason Alper on Pop Drop

Posted on September 19, 2012 by Grace

.
Pop drop stops by the LA digs of Jason Alper, Stormtrooper Bunny artist and Costume Designer for Sasha Baron Cohen. We love Jason's LA modern digs and his wonderful, dry sense of humor. Find out what Jason's been up to, in addition to teaching his 18 month old to mix beats, and about how he got started in conceptual and pop art.

Caitlind Brown's Cloud

Posted on September 18, 2012 by Grace

We're completely charmed by this lovely light installation made by Caitlind Brown for Calgary's Nuit Blanche. Made up of more than 5000 reused lightbulbs and pullcords, visitors are invited to walk around and activate the installation from all sides. Brilliant! Still Lifes by Justine Reyes

Still Life with Cup and Melon, 2009.

Sill Life is an oft maligned genre in art that conjures images of dark Flemish interiors, waxy fruit and dead fish. However, Justine Reyes' Vanitas project throws this notion on its head with a stunning collection of still life oil paintings that elevate the genre to a level of startling clarity and poignancy (the plastic wrap next to the melon? Unbelievable!). See more at PDN and check out her website here.
