This past Thursday night the ArtStar crew, after a long day yet productive at the office, trudged over to the New Museum to check out the George Condo: Mental States show.

Trudged, that is, because the streets were slush-tastic,  not because we weren't excited (especially since the New Museum is a hop, skip and a jump from ArtStar HQ). Joined by ArtStar bffs Emmeline Khun (PR whiz) and Matt Sanocki (Design Public), we had a great time viewing Condo's provocative and dystopian "fake old masters," posing artfully, and whispering. We particularly loved the third floor where an extensive series of Condo's portraits were hung salon-style across the wall. The striking installation emphasized Condo's range as well as common themes across his career and highlighted interesting departures in style (like a fresh faced woman in blue). Up next? The New Museum roof as the weather improves (*sigh*) and more openings on the LES...
