AN ECLECTIC HOME IN D.C. BY JEWEL MARLOWE
Featuring ArtStar for Maximal(ist) Impact
Jewel Marlowe is an interior designer based in the Washington, D.C. area. She has a passion — and incredible talent! — for creating unique spaces that tell her clients’ stories. "I love the whimsy and character ArtStar pieces add," she says. "I am often most drawn to their photography with a heavy dose of wit."
"In the dining room,
I installed an intensely blue textured chinoiserie mural by Arte,”
she continues.“Because I wanted the room to feel formal without being stuffy, I opted for “Party Girl” by Liz Von Hoene.
“This piece is so over-the-top feminine. Plus, the architecture speaks to the fireplace and design of the home itself"
“In the living room, we installed a vintage marble fireplace and very graphic fabric panels — plus two Art Deco citron velvet chairs and a hot pink fringed sofa,” she says. “Knowing that the art over the fireplace would be critical, I landed on “Pink Smoke” by Carla Sutera Sardo because of the perspective it brought to the room. I love it when art makes us question and wonder.”
