Rubeena Ratcliffe was born and raised in Edmonton, Canada and later educated as an architect in Canada, Holland, and the US. Ratcliffe became enthralled with painting landscapes and objects and their relationships. By simplifying their parts, Ratcliffe creates bold yet calming paintings whose image is made up of shapes, colors, and texture.
