Soap Bubble Studies is a project with which I've been busy for the last six years. The series is a mixture of landscape photography with some surreal elements. For me, soap bubbles are a metaphor for the impermanence and fragility of life- no two are identical, but all come from one source. Strong winds, dry weather, and so on can make unpredictable outcomes in shapes and size. It is an exercise of letting go of control. So far the series has been taking place in the Moroccan Desert, and in various places in Austria, Italy and Spain.

Marlies Plank, born 1981in Vienna started out as a freelance photographer in 2007. Mainly focusing on concept and fine art photography. "The images of Viennese artist Marlies Plank, seem like scraps from a dream. You wake up and only remember small fragments, images and scenes. But the more you think about it, the more everything blurs into a shadowy formation and fades out. Marlies Plank explains that she finds a great pleasure in the act of staging, but also likes to be guided by unforeseen sudden flashes of inspiration and ideas. Her images are something dreamlike, almost surreal and very inviting to just pause and dwell in the moment. (ignant) She had various exhibitions worldwide and has been featured in Art Magazines and Blogs. Recently she had an artist collaboration with Valentino where 2 of her collages were used in several collections of Maison Valentino.
