Imbued with a sultry romance, Pratt’s photographs are as romantic as they are playful. Her palette is vibrantly matte, each picture suggestive of whimsical passion. Alluringly cosmopolitan, Pratt’s photographs radiate lustrous energy.
Q: Your work has a distinct style. Who would you say are your top artistic in uences?
A: I want my photography to tell a story whether it is a singular image or a series of images. I am most in uenced by the work of Fellini, Hans Christian Andersen, Godard, and Coppola.
Q: What are some of your favorite locations to shoot?
A: I love locations that feel completely authentic. I like shooting in a dilapidated house with peeling wallpaper and an overgrown garden, and I also love a location that is rich in culture like India or Morocco.
Q: A lot of your work seems to have an inner narrative. How do you come up with your themes for the photo shoots?
A: I tend to go in with a certain time period or a speciic location in mind, and then I tell a story around the visual narrative I have created. The hair, makeup and styling has to fit with the overall vibe I want to convey. If I am in a studio and not on location then the styling needs to be even stronger so that the visual story can come alive.
