Gabi Mitterer is an abstract painter who brings digital aesthetics and vibrance to her work. The artist is based in Austria and studied Painting and Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. As a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on painting, her work ranges from the influences of digital aesthetics through concrete, constructive art to the topics of everyday analysis or identity.
Gabi’s main focus is painting, but she will switch to photography, sculpture or embroidery if it better conveys an idea. “I like this contradiction of bringing new media or ideas together with old, traditional techniques and tools,” says the artist. In a time when images can be created and deleted in seconds, Gabi strives to use “an old, traditional and “slow” medium like painting.
